Watch and Learn Classes PDF Print E-mail

It has become apparent to us that there is a vast interest in the Charlotte community to learn about home projects, whether it be fixing something that is broken, or refinishing something that needs a new look. Below you will find a list of free classes held at the Charlotte ReStore to address these wide variety of topics.

If you think of something you would like to see offered, or know someone (even if it's you!) who could teach a class, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with these suggestions.

We look forward to learning with you!

Upcoming Classes:

The tiling class for November 7th has been cancelled because the instructor broke her arm. We will keep you posted on when it will be rescheduled. We apologize for any inconvenience.

November 14th: 10AM-12PM - Weatherizing your home (Wendover location)

There wil be:

  • A display and description of products from Lowe's that you can use to make your house more energy efficient and save money during cold weather
  • A demonstration on how to build a "tent" over your attic access hatch out of blue board that will save you money in heating bills
  • A short presentation about horror stories and common places we are wasting energy in our homes by Green Home, a local company that provides comprehensive home health and energy audits for homeowners and businesses.
  • thermal_imaging

The red/orange spots indicate areas of the house that are losing heat. Sadly many of our homes would look like this.

  • A short presentation by Green Fiber to talk about their recycled insulation (which can be purchased at the ReStore that day for the low price of $3/bag - normally retails for $12/bag!), and how to properly insulate your attic.
  • dsc02229

  • Free Lowe's Weatherization Video ($7 value) for everyone who attends.
