Donations Dock Coordinator Description: - If you enjoy working with people, this is the position for you! The Donations Dock Coordinator accepts donations directly from drop-off donors and educates customers on what we accept and do not accept to maintain a high quality of sellable goods. Training Needed: Volunteer Orientation, On-site Training Time Commitment: At least once a month; shifts are Tuesday – Saturday (am shift and pm shift) Location: Wendover ReStore, Wilkinson ReStore
Book Section Assistant Description: Our book section (housed in Julia's Cafe & Books at the Wendover Rd location) just underwent an expansion, and we have a lot of book shelves! We're looking for folks to sort donated books, learn our pricing system, keep the section organized, and separate the jewels from the junk. Julia’s Coffee Barista Description: Julia’s Coffee sells locally roasted coffee as part of the Wendover Rd ReStore. Experience in a coffee shop is not needed, just a friendly face with a knack for customer service! Furniture Repair Volunteer Description: A wobbly leg or scratch can mean the death of an otherwise great donation. With a little attention (repair, refinishing, etc) these items can not only help raise funds for Habitat, they can also be rescued from unnecessarily cluttering our landfills. We're looking for someone to help provide some TLC to our furniture. Metal Recycling Project Assistant Description: The ReStore has a Metal Recycling Project in order to maximize our proceeds and minimize waste. You wouldn't believe the amount of appliances we receive that don't actually work! We need folks to help remove metal components (faucets, disposals, drains, etc) from donations that cannot be resold, and sort them according to the type of metal. No skills required, just a willingness to learn! Training Needed: Volunteer Orientation, On-site training Time Commitment: Anytime during recycling center hours Tuesday - Saturday Location: Metal Recycling Center
Mr./Ms. Fix-It: Fan Repair Description: If you are interested in increasing your electrical knowledge and like to work with your hands, then this is the position for you! An experienced Fan Repair Volunteer will be available for training. Experience is not required – just a desire to learn! Choose your own projects based on your ability. Training Needed: Volunteer Orientation, On-site training Time Commitment: Anytime during store hours Tuesday - Saturday Location: Wendover ReStore
Mr./Ms. Fix-It: Appliances Description: This position is perfect for volunteers who love working with appliances, including washers and dryers, refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers, ovens, and stoves. This volunteer will assist staff in testing appliances to assess their condition and repairing those that can be sold at our ReStores. Training Needed: Volunteer Orientation, On-site training Time Commitment: Anytime during recycling center hours Tuesday - Saturday Location: Metal Recycling Center
Truck Driver Description: These volunteers assist the Habitat truck drivers in picking up donations and delivering them to the ReStores. Volunteers will assist the drivers in safely and efficiently removing donated items from homes and businesses onto the trucks to be offloaded at the ReStores. Training Needed: Volunteer Orientation, On-site training Time Commitment: Any day Monday – Saturday; 8 hour shift Location: Wendover ReStore and Wilkinson ReStore
Cashier Extraordinaire DescriptionThe front register staff are the first people a shopper sees at the ReStore. We're looking for folks who like to interact with people throughout the day and feel comfortable running a cash register. You'll spend your time with our great staff and volunteers while meeting people from your community, all of whom are supporting Habitat! Training Needed: Volunteer Orientation, On-site training Time Commitment: At least twice a month; shifts are Tuesday – Saturday (am shift and pm shift) Location: Wilkinson ReStore

Metal Recycling Center – Groups will assist Metal Recycling Center staff in removing metal components from appliances that cannot be resold, and sorting them according to the type of metal. What else should I know about volunteering as a group at the ReStores or Metal Recycling Center? *Age Restrictions: Volunteers must be 14 or older to volunteer at the ReStores. Volunteers age 14-15 must have a parent or legal guardian present. Volunteers must be 16 or older to volunteer at the Metal Recycling Center. All volunteers under 18 must have a signed Minor Release Form.
Available Times: Tuesday-Saturday (morning shift is 9AM-1PM; afternoon shift is 1PM-5PM)
